Emil Sogor - Thoughts and Encounters with his Art

Emil Sogor sees himself as a migrant between graphics, design, painting and sculpturing using the tools of a multifaceted education and year long experience in mutual crafts.

"The discovery of every artwork corresponds to a discovery of the self on a journey into the unknown."

Inspirations from various cultures, their past and their immediate present, have had a decisive influence on his work.

Most important and first step in his work is the idea and the sketch drawing. The drawing on its own is split in three different groups:
Study sheets followed by work drawings which capture the idea for realisation in various media... painting, sculptures etc.
And then there is the drawing with an independant artistic statement - the drawing as artwork.

For Emil Sogor the aesthetic balance of contradictory factors is most important: "linear or picturesque; constructive or unstable; covering or glazing; surface-like or space-like".

His and Gundel's contribution to ALLÉE BLEUE is to implement the hallmark of their philosophy: a holistic creative approach. The fascination of an untouchable grand nature combined with equally high respect for local heritage and the challange of the rebirth into the 20th century are motivation for their creative work on the Estate. Inspiring vibration in the fusion of sensitively restored heritage and state-of-the art luxury with contemporary art surrounded by the breathtaking African nature. Every artistic aspect on the Estate is thought-through and meaningful... A total exploration of the senses!
